The Town of Quintana general elections are held on the first Saturday of May each year located in Brazoria County and hours for Election Day are 7am to 7pm.

City Council positions are staggered positions that are elected as follows:

  • Odd Years: Mayor and Town Council Positions 1 and 2
  • Even Years: Town Council Positions 3, 4 and 5

The Town of Quintana contracts with the Brazoria County Elections for Election Services and the Polling Sites for Early Voting are set by Brazoria County Elections.

  • Town Council Position 3 – Camille Tyner
  • Town Council Position 4 – Adam Valadez
  • Town Council Position 5 – Rebecca Button

Candidate Filing Information

The City Secretary is required to post a Notice of Deadline to File Applications for Place on the Ballot, by Monday December 15, 2025, which will include the following information:

Important Election Deadlines:

First Day to File for a Place on the General Election Ballot – Wednesday, January 14, 2026

Last Day to File for a Place on the General Election Ballot – Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Last Day to File a Declaration of Write In Candidacy  – Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications for Office

Type A City (Local Gov’t Code, Section 22.032)

  • Mayor Residence — 1 year in state prior to the filing deadline; 1 year in city prior to election day Age — 18 Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline*
  • Alderman Residence — 1 year in state prior to filing deadline; 6 months in the city (or ward) prior to filing deadline (Texas Elec. Code, Section 141.001(a); Brown v. Patterson, 609 SW 2nd 287) Age — 18 Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline*

General Election Information and Updates

There are several ways to obtain a blank application for a place on the ballot.

  • Applications are available next to black drop box at Town Hall
  • If office is open, applications available inside Town Hall
  • Visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.state.tx.us
  • Visit the town’s website at www.quintanatx.org

Applications for Place on Ballot can be turned in several ways:

  • Emailing to [email protected] or [email protected] or
  • in person at Town Hall to the clerk or the city administrator
  • placing in black drop box (by this notice) at Town Hall,
  • by mail to Town Hall, Attn: City Administrator, 814 Lamar St., Quintana, Tx. 77541.

In case you visit town hall after hours or if closed during business hours due to inclement weather situations or the city secretary is out of the office.

All completed applications Must Be Notarized before turning into Town Hall, Emailing, Mailing or Dropping off at drop box, No Exceptions.

All applications not signed, notarized or completed will be notified if possible and a completed, signed and notarized application will be required.
